It has been a very successful month for the Puddledub team and we are so excited to share that we won not just one but two awards this month!
Great British Food Award Winners
Back in August we found out that 4 of our products were shortlisted as finalists at the Great British Food Awards 2024. The finalists were our Unsmoked Gammon, Smoked Gammon Steaks, Unsmoked Middle Bacon and Smoked Streaky Bacon. It was an honour for our products to be chosen as finalists for such a prestigious awards. These awards celebrate the country’s finest artisanal produce and featured celebrity chef judges such as Raymond Blanc OBE, Gizzi Erskine and Michelin-star chef Michael Roux Jr. We were very excited that these chefs enjoyed our products so much!
Last week we were told our Unsmoked Gammon and Unsmoked Middle Bacon were awarded Bronze Winners in the pork category! This esteemed recognition places us amongst the finest in the industry. We would like to extend our gratitude to all our staff who work so hard to produce such quality produce. Our Unsmoked Gammon is traditionally hand crafted by our team and has been mild cured for 2 weeks. This helps to slowly develop a great flavour and texture. Our unsmoked middle bacon is also hand cured by our staff for 2 weeks before being sliced and packed. This dry curing process means our bacon does not shrink and there is little residue when cooking. There is no added water and we don’t use anymore curing salt than we need. We ensure our bacon is cured properly. Becoming a winner really emphasises Puddledub’s commitment to providing top-quality, handmade produce.
Butcher Shop of the Year – Fife 2024/25 Winners
Pete and Camilla also recently picked up the award for Butcher Shop of the Year – Fife 2024/25! Prestige Awards Scotland were launched to celebrate the businesses that consistently offer excellent products and services to local residents. This is a huge achievement for our team and we are are feeling very grateful to have won. We would like to pass on our gratitude to all our amazing customers and suppliers. Your continued support means the world to us.
