A simple, seasonal and delicious recipe for these cooler summer evenings. This recipe serves 2.
Ingredients:
- 2x teaspoons of oil
- 2x Puddledub smoked gammon steaks (unsmoked gammon steaks also work)
- 200g fine green beans
- 250g small new potatoes
- 4 tablespoons of roughly chopped parsley
- 2 tablespoons of white wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of honey
- freshly-ground pepper
Directions:
- Heat the oil in the large, heavy-based frying pan and when really hot, add the gammon steaks and cook for about 3 minutes on each side or until browned on each side. Remove to two warmed dinner plates.
- Take the pan off the heat. Whisk the vinegar with the pepper, honey and 4x 15 ml tablespoons of water and quickly throw into the hot pan with most of the parsley. Stir and scrape to mix and then pour over the gammon steaks.
Sides & vegetables recommendation:
- We recommend air frying the potatoes with a little oil for 25 mins at 180 and mixing some extra parsley, salt and pepper with them after.
- Cook the green beans in boiling water for around 3 minutes (or to your desired softness!) and mix into the potatoes.
We recommend a glass of pinot noir to go with as it compliments the flavour of the smoked gammon beautifully.
