New Spring Beans crop planted to provide Winter feeding

Here at Puddledub, we are trialing a new Spring Field Bean crop. This will grow and ripen to be harvested in November and become a local homegrown protein source for our Puddledub pigs next Winter.

You can see the tractors and the muck spreader out in the fields, preparing the ground ahead of planting. It's sustainable farming but it's a smelly job! Luckily for you, the smellometer doesn't work through our website.

It will mean though, the soil is rich and fertile and should support a good crop. We'll keep you posted on what the Puddledub pigs think of the beans.
